I haven't been able to find out much about doing this with a meat substitute. So I had an experiment I used tesco plant based substitute which it is mostly soya and think it about 2 % fat.i emptied a bag into a wok cooked until defrosted then added some spice and passata once it was all cooked I let it cool very slightly then spread it on the dehydrater sheets see pics what I ended up with and I rehydrate some for 5 mins texture appears the same.

Such a clever idea. x
Looks curious, but if it tastes OK then itโs worth the experimentation.
The end result looks good. ๐
Clever but seems like a lot of work I personally would just forego the meat completely than use a meat substitute but I guess if someone loves their meat and you are trying to allow them to feel like they are still getting meat itโs a good idea. My husband would not go along with it though ๐
What advantages do you get dehydrating something rather than simply having it frozen?
Very clever idea. It does look the same in the photos. x
