What are these? I brought these of ebay to use in fabric journal but what are they i thought they may be a label i don't no they are old ?x

I think they may be silk embroideries from vintage cigarette cards, like these ones on eBay?

Kensitas silk flowers were given away with J.Wix & Sons Ltd Kensitas cigarettes from about 1933. There are also a number of design varieties although these are quite rare. The silks themselves were issued in printed card wallets that gave details of the flowers, many also had adverts for the cigarettes themselves printed on the back.

Also wondered - might they have been woven to be made into ring-pulls - like in big old-fashioned houses with lots of servants?? Upstairs-Downstairs type?

From the reverse they look machine made.

Possible from lengths of linen ribbon made for borders?

Looks like hand embroidered linen , I think they are gorgeous I would use in slow stitching and add to clusters or fabric covers also to decorate

Don’t know what they are, an appliqué possibly, but they are gorgeous , reminds me of the postcards and cards sent in the First World War.

Wow they look gorgeous. What a wonderful find. Not sure what they are, maybe for appliqué, maybe samples. Unable to tell if they are machined or hand embroidered. Depending on the size and if they are big enough they would make lovely little handbag coin or bits and bob purses. Did it give any clues in the description when you bought them?
