My craft room, or maybe craft space as I've now incorporated the hallway outside into storage area for my craft stuff; is still a work in progress but I couldn't resist showing you my Alice in Wonderland wall. It was inspired by the clock that Purplelisa gave me in one of the swaps, she made it from an old vinyl record and painted it beautifully. I originally put it in the craft room but I knew it needed it's own special area.
The wall is above the bookcase where my favourite books are, and some dvd collections. I have some collectable Terry Pratchett discworld books and maps, including the new limited edition version of A Life Without Footnotes, that apparently has some photos or something inside, which I wouldn't know about because I haven't dared to take the plastic cover off 🤓. Several different copies of the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy some of these still have their plastic covers still on too; and both versions American and English hardback versions of the Harry Potter collection including the limited edition U.K. version of The Deathly Hallows. On this shelf too is a much coveted brass cribbage board that I inherited from my grandparents who taught me to play dominoes and we used this cribbage board to score. When my grandmother died several family members asked for the board but the only thing my grandmother said had to go to a particular person was the cribbage board because she promised it to me when I was 8. So as you can imagine this is a special wall 😂
I'm totally building this up into something better than it is so I'll just show you the pictures now. Please ignore the stash of dowel rods in the corner I moved them there out of Aurin's way, they are for my roman blinds. Also I didn't realise the tail fell off my bunny shelf so the pic of the wall it's missing but I stuck it back on so the pic of the shelf it's back again. ... Thanks for the clock Lisa, I love it.!
The queen of hearts I picked up several years ago she is made of metal and wire, the shop was one of those stores that you don't really go in often enough and they just have wonderful trinkets and pieces of furniture the kind with lots of drawers unfortunately it closed during the Covid pandemic. The bowl I picked up in Walmart or Target, i know it's not quite the chessboard pattern you associate with Alice in Wonderland but I liked it and filled it with Alice in Wonderland themed charms. The miniature top hat was bought for me by my son, again it's not really the Mad Hatters one but it felt it went well with the collection. He actually bought it for me because we used to play a computer game together called The Secret World and my character worked hard to win a tiny top hat and I always wore it as part of my costume. My plague doctor isn't really anything to do with Alice in Wonderland, but he's a squishable plague doctor, what's not to like. I will continue to add to my wall as I dig out my collectable items and probably collect more.
The wall looks fabulous 😍
Just ❤️ 💕 💗 that Red Queen.
BTW my son James is suffering from a severe case of Pratchet-envy since I told him!
