Sally Ann mentioned bear’s breeches, plant , Acanthus mollis , so I was curious to find out more about it. Here it isA lovely plant for cutting and flower arranging , can be invasive, but very hardy and mainly pest free.
We've grown it for several years. It can certainly spread, but the flowers are pretty (if a bit spiky!) and the foliage is very attractive.
Bit like a lupin. Lovely - wouldn't mind if it invaded my garden!
