I think marigolds take a longer time to crochet , the lotus flowers I can do quite quickly, the centres will hold a small crocheted candle Very easily.
If you planned one ahead of time you could get help from all of us, many of us crochet or knit or sew and could do a piece or two for you. I’d happily help with some Christmas figures or maybe if everyone did flowers for a Spring one if there were too many they could cascade down the back like a hooded cloak instead of a hat 😀
I don’t know much about the use of lotus flower but I know marigolds are used during Diwali to make garlands and as offerings to gods so either flower would have worked. Might be hard to find a pattern for a marigold though
No liz not knitted all crochet thanks for your comment . The piece that goes on the top of the post box is a material piece that is weather proof, saves me a lot of crocheting.😁
