When I have finished the Yorkshire button I stuff it with tiny scraps of material then knot the ribbon and put the knot in with the scraps of stuffing close the button up with tight gathered stitches hence the ribbon is attached and secure then you thread the big wooden bean with the ribbon up to the button both are secure . I like the idea of using the Yorkshire button and loop as a closure to a box or bag or note book. Than you for your ideas Sarah. Xx
Presumably if you put the ribbon through the button there is something on the back that you can thread through. So with that in mind, take an elastic band, thread it through the button and then thread the elastic band through itself so as to secure it on the button then it will work like a hair bobble you can take the band wrap it around something like a few flowers or pencils or crochet hooks and secure it by looping it over the button. Far more gentle than putting the elastic over the ends of flowers and risk tangling or breaking the flowers
Also you could make hair accessories with them, or just an accessory to a bag, like a keychain.
Plus different coloured ones would mark the ownership or contents like if kids at school have the same bag, add a colourful keychain and their own stands out.
Attach to a zip/zipper to give something bigger to grip to undo the zip.
One more idea just a simple fastener for box or bag, or notebook, loop on one part, button on the other and you snap the loop over the button, easier for kids or people with arthritis than a flat button.
I like the key ring idea - and all the others too!
You could have a factory line going there, Linda!
I also like the idea of attaching to a zip giving something bigger to grab hold of Sarah xx
