I'm not sure I understand the science behind this, surely all it does is keep it warm, it's not applying any heat,so how does it cook? I understand you have tried it so it obviously works but I don't understand how. I know you cook the food a bit to start with to get it to boiling, but as soon as you move it to the bag it is going to cool a little and stop boiling, I can see the bag would keep it pretty warm but it still will lose heat over time, I don't understand how the bag can add heat. A slow cooker adds heat and will bring the food to a slow boil and keep it simmering.
Could it be that you do all the actual cooking on the stove and the rest of the time is just letting the flavours build, like how chilli always tastes better next day when the flavours have had time to build? Do you have a link to where I can get more information on this because I'm very intrigued by it. It would be great for camping or maybe a small one for work if you work outdoors it would be great to have a hot meal for lunch.
Sarah look up wonder bag the lady invented it for people in Africa.yes you bring food up to a rolling boil for 20 mins you need the pot all most full to hold heat in you need a pot that holds the heat well there must not be any empty space round the pot to lose heat I wrap mine in a towel.i cut my meat small so after you browned it and it been on a rolling boil its more or less cooked.instead of putting it in a slow cooker for hours using electric it is sliw cooker in the bag.no sauce evaporates the flavour is great and meat really tenner. With camping it will save on gas as that's very expensive we have a emergency camping stove at home incase of power cut so the bag will be handy there.
Very elegant.
Dolly is one spoiled-stupid caravan! Hope she appreciates it!
