Hello ladies I thought I'd pop on and show you my crochet reindeer I've made for Christmas 🎅. Greg bought a lovely little kit a few months ago and I've finally finished him. In really happy with him as I'm not experienced in toy making. I hope you are all doing well ☺️

Greg made this beautiful Santa sack cake. A small portion is fruit cake the rest is polystyrene. I'm so proud of him and I love to see his creativity 🎅💕

I made this today to go with a cheese board tomorrow evening. It made almost 3 jars and is really tasty. A couple of tweaks to the recipe: I added a couple of squirts of honey to balance the acidity from the vinegar. It wasn't quite thickened enough so I added some cornflour mixed with water and simmered for an extra 5 mins and it worked. I'm going to make it again for some Christmas gifts paired with some crackers and a little spatula or knife. Link here https://www.chelsea.co.nz/browse-recipes/spiced-apple-chutney/

i've decided to pick up my cross stitch again. I used to do it years ago with my mum and I haven't felt like doing it since she passed away. I found a lovely hanging basket pattern I want to do but I thought I'd try a small project like a Christmas tag for Greg to practice a bit first and I love how it turned out.

Greg bought me a set of 4 pictures to do scratch art for Christmas. I made my first one of Sydney Opera House I absolutely enjoyed it and found it so relaxing to do. Two of my friends now want to do them : ). The next one to do is of Cologne Cathedral. We visited Cologne in December 2012 so it will bring back lovely memories.

Hi Ladies I've decided I want to get back into cross stich. I used to do it about 20 years ago just after I got married, I made a wedding forever friends bears wedding sampler and it's in a frame here. I used to do it a lot with my mum and I have just felt now that I can do it again without feeling upset. I have been through all my things I do have the 14ct aida and threads but I don't have a hoop anymore, should I get one? What I mean is do you definitely need that to use when you work? I used to use one but I found that sometimes they left a mark on the aida... I love hanging baskets and have bought a lovely pattern with those on to put in my craft room. I'd appreciate any help, thanks xo

I tried I think it's called tapestry crochet where it has color changes. It's my first attempt and I'm really pleased with how it turned out

Hi Ladies I want to try something I have'nt tried before in crochet and that is changing colors to form a pattern in rows. The pattern is here (you do have to download it to see it). I do hope I'm not doing the wrong thing by sharing the link to the pattern If I am please tell me. it's here https://www.yarnspirations.com/lily-botanical-crochet-dishcloth/SCC0512-030572M.html?cgid=patterns#prefn1=patternProjectType&prefv1=Dishcloths&prefn2=patternSkillTypeString&prefv2=Crochet&prefn3=patternSubCategoryRefinement&prefv3=Holiday%7CHome+D%C3%A9cor&start=2 What I want to know is when it says Work Chart, noting each square of chart is equal to 1 sc and reading RS rows from right to left and WS rows from left to right. Carry color not in use across top of entire previous row and work sts around it. This will ensure even gauge as all sts will be worked around an extra strand of yarn held across top of previous row. Carry both colors up side of work. 1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch fro Should I be writing down when I'm on a WS or RS, I'm gathering the first row is the RS?? and I read the chart according to what they say.
Also do I just hold the previous color yarn with me and stich over it on the back when it says carry the yarn? Sorry for all the stupid questions I've been wanting to try this and I love dishcloths and foliage so it's perfect for me. Thanks for your help xx

I've finished my Christmas crochet blanket for Zoe I'm really pleased with it. It's my first solid granny square one and I've never done one with an applique before. Sometimes I never thought I'd finish but I did and I'm happy 😊

I meant to post this a couple of months ago but forgot. Greg made me a bottle cake. I love the show "I dream of Jeannie" so he made the genie bottle. I just loved it

I made some Easter napkins out of linen and then used my Cricut and some foil iron on to cut out the bunnies and ironed them on.

Hi ladies I found this in a magazine and It will be my first crochet cushion. I think the heart outline around the writing is called surface crochet?? I just wanted to check as I will need to look up a tutorial for it as I've never done this before. The other thing is I've never followed a chart before or carried the yarn at the back of the work. i did look that up and it said you hold it at the back and then with the new colour crochet a few stitches over then drop that color, does that sound right? then pick it up again when it's time to start with that colour again (sorry for all the questions) I've been looking for ages for a cushion project I want to actually crochet and be excited about it.
