I had an old foot stall so I bought some lovely tapestry material and had watched how people had upholstered foot stalls and this is my first attempt. I need to sew some lining material to the bottom to cover up the wood and stains where the old staples where that will finish it off nicely.

I Just finished making the canvas cover for my friends pouffe, I put it over my instant pot for photographic purposes. Them I thought I have other canvas material I could make a cover for the hot pot make it look good on the side of the kitchen, while I am at it I could make a cover for the ninja air fryer. There is alsorts of possibilities. The pattern for the pouffe cover was made with an old sheet and cut out then pinned on to the canvas I was going to use . Now I am in to upholstery I have my hammer and upholstery nails so next is to do my foot stall.

I have just been to my friend up the road who comes from Bangladesh. We did cooking together and she made Jalebis and parathas for me showed me how to cook them. For the jalebis (an Indian sweet.). She mixed flour and water and a bit of salt to make a batter using an icing bag she spun the batter around in hot oil cooked them both sides till they were golden then dipped them in boiling hot sugar , saffron and red food colouring . and water, let the sugar and water cool down first dipped in the jalebis and they were so good this is how they turned out. The other plate is parathas that I could have with a mild curry. I used to have all this Indian food years ago and now I can make them myself.

Now I have decided to upholster my foot stall with some velvet I found in my stash, which is so much softer than the canvas. The can vas I have sewn and pinned in to a cover for a poufae that my friend rescued from being thrown away. In this picture I have pinned the round top to the bottom only so I can try it for a fit over at my friends house on Friday. Next picture is looking from it side ways I am still waiting for the upholstery nails to do my foot stall , but this is the velvet I am going to use to upholster it. Watch this space for completion of my upholstery projects.

Today I went to a pottery shop that I had visited and went to 7 years ago. I painted bisque pottery with a couple of friends. So enjoyable , I chose a mushroom night light. Here it is just got to wait for it to be glazed and fired.

Sally Ann being tall took this photo for me as I am a bit short at 5ft 2 inches to get a good photo of the post box topper, next is Easter. It is a corner to corner top and tucking in the corner edges made it round enough for the top. With crocheted flowers and hearts..

I have just made a bun hat, for my friend she has long hair so this is ideal. It's crocheted rib with a hole in the top to put your pony tail through. The hat took a 50gram ball of double knit wool and a little bit more from another 50gram ball. Here are photos of what it looks like on the author Donna Wolfe.

Is also to not buy new craft products, and to use all my stash , I have stash for every craft you can think of from knitting and crochet to the other extreme of glass cutting. To do I project and finish it before starting another. To not buy any more things on sewing street and Amazon. And only to watch sewing street for ideas. my project is knitting a winter jumper the back is done and front is nearly done , a raglan polo neck jumper so just two sleeves and polo neck to do . Will post another picture of the finished project before the month is out.

I decided to up date the way I do my cooking , from an instant duo pot. I went up market and bought my self a Ninja Foodi air fryer. Dual drawer. Now I can do more and bigger meals but with out a pressure cook facility. That doesn't matter as the ninja foodi air fryer does everything but in sauces not gravy . Now I just need the cook book which I will get in the new year. The Christmas roast beef was roasted in the ninja and came out lovely. A big topside of beef took only 55 minutes.

I bought this book as a stocking filler for my daughter Liz, dump and go an American term for putting all raw ingrediants in to liquid proof freezer bags , then you have dinners all ready when you come home from work to dump them in a casserole or. Instant pot cook and dinner is ready. Brilliant time saver.

I have just done some potatoes and carrots for Christmas. I put them in the instant pot for one minute pressure cook. Then when cool put them in dump and go zipped freezer bags. In the freezer till Christmas Day , they can then be dumped in to roast with the roast beef. Saving a lot of time for me.
