I have been playing with Affinity Designer, a vector drawing programme, I use it for many different things, it's good for creating posters such as this one. I created downloadable pattern pieces for my bags with it, I can scan my art work into the computer and neaten it up with Affinity Designer and I can use it to set up a sublimation print. Affinity/Serif also make an affinity photo programme that is a great alternative to Photoshop and Affinity Publisher which I used instead of Adobe PDF. They are a whole lot cheaper you can get all three programmes right now for $99 to work on Windows, Mac and IPad. No subscription as with the other programmes mentioned and you get updates for the life of that product. I originally bought the product in 2014 when it was first released and have been getting free updates ever since. At the end of last year they bought out version two but I still got an update on my old version, since then. I'm sure the updates will cease for the old version soon but I think 8 years of free updates for a product I paid less than $50 for is a great bargain. No I'm not affiliated with Serif and I'm not getting paid to say great things about them. I just want to spread the word about a great company because when I first started in graphic design I could not afford Photoshop and Illustrator and it's very hard to learn a skill when you can't afford the tools you need. New artists now can use Serifs programmes without breaking the bank and learn a great skill.
