Baby to toddles hats.
The two baby hats I have made, the button holds the bobble in place on the elastic attached to the bobble so that the bobble which is faux fur can be removed for washing. Or also can be removed so the hat is reversible and attached again. I am still making the mittens. The yarn is mohair and very soft.

my faux fur pom poms came with metal poppers on them, so they just pop on and off but unless I got some more poppers and put a second one inside the hat I can't reverse them. I like the idea of the buttons, Your pom poms look very fluffy, do you fluff them up with the hairdryer? Mine looked like drowned rats when they arrived but the instructions said fluff with a hairdryer and I was surprised at how fluffy and smooth and neat they ended up 🤣
