I also made a rice bag and incorporated a fox and caterpillar., I made two Suffolk punch and sewed them to the rice bag after I had sewn some sashiko by hand, and some appliqué of flowers by sewing machine.

I used iron on wadding and maybe a piece of material covered plastic canvas for the bottom. A thick wadding did the trick though. Thanks for the comment .
I love it linda , nice work . , what did you use to stiffen the sides , mine seems floppy even with interfacing , I am wondering if plastic would be better
