Aurin gives me a little flower in the morning on his way from the car into the house. He likes the purple ones that he finds in the grass but sometimes I get a clover. I decided this week to press a few of them and I encased them in a resin pot, suitable for pencils or even a small bunch of flowers. Whilst I was playing with the resin I made another 3D bunny and some other things.
Its hard to get a clear picture of them because they are so shiny, but the pink one is a pig, as you can see a lot of the glitter in that one fell to his head so it looks like a little hat. but the others I used a much finer glitter and they were fine. In the cube I mixed the resin and then right before I was ready to pour it I added a few drops of alcohol ink and just swirled it into the mixture a bit so it gives a swirly look inside the cube. The coaster I just made with the leftover mixes from the other things. I had to hold the flowers in position with some tweezers while I poured the mix into the mold with my other hand.
They are lovely Sarah. Such a great idea. Love them. x
Lovely work, Sarah!
A pretty assortment of makes, and a super idea.
I keep meaning to try this!
I have been pressing flowers for a while - must get to it!
PS - I told my husband about Aurin - hoping he might well take a hint !
He replied 'Plain or self-raising? ' Huh! 😒
Thank you. I had the windows open and a fan on and I only smelt the resin a few times but I would advise you to do it outside because of the problems you have had. Maybe with a fan to blow the fumes away from you or wear a mask and protective glasses. Yes it was a mould, my daughter bought it for me from my Amazon wish list, she didn’t read that it was a mold she just saw Pencil pot and couldn’t understand why I wanted it enough to add it to my wish list
Those are nice sarah I have not used my resin yet , I especially like the resin pot as pretty and useful , is it a mould you used ?
