Storm Eunice

Updated: Sep 16, 2022

Storm Eunice raged through the south east of England on February 18th, it blew from the south west on too the front of the house. We kept the side door to the car port open so it would blow through and not lift the roof off the car port. Our neighbour whose car port is attached with ours lost her roof to it, which blew right off and landed in our orchard.

Luckily we have a strong wall between us so the car was safe. We had no other damage and count our selves lucky. The poly tunnel and greenhouse survived, and none of our trees were blown over. We are hoping no other storms come along and the spring arrives soon.

You can see part of the hole in our neigbours car port roof some of which also blew in to the farmers field by the tree.

Gosh! We have been so lucky - all the storms over the past few months have left us virtually unscathed! So glad the damage wasn’t worse, and good move with the garage doors!

I'm glad that your lovely garden was ok, you must have that polytunnel staked down really well, but maybe the wind was just directed right to blow right through it. When we had a tornado hit a few years back, my daughter said someone she knew was telling her that she always left her windows open, she has a very small house and it was left in tact while her neighbours that wa…
