Can you tell me more or post a pic of your loom and the type of yarn you used I would love to make doormats and rug for the dog maybe even a rug for beside my bed
I’ve find it very relaxing. My wood peg loom is 24 inches and I have a variety of peg sizes both wood and plastic. For this rug I used very narrow plastic pegs (the white ones in the photo). When I did research on peg loom rugs, most people use very very thick wool. I used all different types of knitting wool, normal and some textured (sorry not being a knitter I have no idea of weights or what the wool size is - to me its just wool), I even added some textured fabric ribbon. My aim was to use only wool that I already had, nothing special. Everything I have made has been experimental but I am extremely pleased with all the projects (many are posted in the forum).
This is a photo of the peg loom with a selection of a few of the pegs to give you an idea. For me its a good size as I can do small rugs, rayburn covers, pot stands, pot holders, coasters etc.
The peg loom I have is 24 inches long, so gives me scope to make various things. There are much bigger ones but I felt for me this was a good starter size. I have a selection of different thickness pegs, both in wood and plastic - I get on better with the plastic ones. For this rug I used the thin plastic ones. As for wool, I use what I have, nothing special. I’m not a knitter so cannot tell you weights or thickness, just that its wool for knitting, not thick. I also used textured fabric ribbon. The idea for me was to use what I had. When I started using the peg loom a few years ago and did lots of research, those making rugs tended to use very thick wool. I have made all sorts of things, some of which I have posted in the forum.
