My goodness it did taste good , I used one circle of lo dough, put it in a deep dish, then put grated cheese on the base, I fried a chopped red onion, layered that on the cheese, chopped cooked left over gammon, the next layer , sliced tomatoes, for the next layer, mixed two eggs with milk poured that in to the dish sprinkled over dried thyme , and black pepper. And baked it in the oven for thirty minutes.
Going to use another base as a carrier and try a curried mince beef . So much healthier than pastry.
That's certainly a versatile product!
And you are quite adventurous with it, Linda!
I bought the packet to make a substitute for pastry and pizza, you buy a lo dough vanilla sponge mix to make a cake or a lo dough brownie mix to make a chocolate cake both are very low in carbs , calories and sugar.
I can see on the packet it says flourless cakes. How do you make a cake with it?
To make it look like pastry when making a pasty you have to brush it liberally with beaten egg before baking.
Yes, it was nothing like pastry, more like pizza, but with a tasty filling it goes a long way as a carrier and substitute for pastry.
Was the dough tasty linda , the filling sounded lovely .
I’m glad you enjoyed it, if the ingredients for the dough are on the packet maybe you could have a go at making your own to save having to order it.
Very yummy.x
