Went down to the poly tunnel and found a sun flower head had been dined on , I think by a squirrel all the shucks were left where it ate. The squirrel would do the same by my Kentish cobnut tree. 😁. I don’t mind what eats the sun flower seeds as long as I don’t have to put them on the compost heap. It is a joy to know that a squirrel thrives on sun flower seeds I hope he never got tummy ache. 🤔

Well it has certainly been consumed and enjoyed by the squirrel
I doubt very much that he got stomach ache, we used to put a lot of bird seed feeders by the window of the room all the children's toys are in so they could watch the birds (we moved them to the garden since) the window was quite high up and a squirrel would come every day and try to get into the feeders, mostly wanting the one with sunflower seeds. I was seriously scared for this squirrel because he would do the most amazing acrobatics to reach the hanging feeders and it was a very high drop. So I would just pile the seeds onto the windowsill for him so he wouldn't have to jump up at the hanging feeders. Some of the birds seemed to prefer that too so in the end I would put a huge pile and this squirrel would come every day and feed on them for ages and he'd be back again later to see if there were more so I guess it didn't make him unwell or he wouldn't have kept coming back.
