I love looking back on memories too. I had completely forgotten about iCords. My mum used to do the same thing too Sarah, and I helped her. I also had the wooden cotton reels with 4 nails hammered in that my dad did for me. I made lots of coasters with them. My mum still has a couple of them somewhere in the attic she said. Lovely memories. x
Is it flat or does it come out like a tube or a long sausage? I remember my mom making cords for things by getting really long lengths of yarn, and folding them together so from a single strand you had about six lengths, then she would have me stand in the next room and she would be the other end of the other room and we would just twist in opposite directions until the cord started to curl on it'self and she would help it twist neatly together and then I assume she tied the ends
very old school I had an old fashioned cotton reel that was wooden and my dad hammered four nails in the top and I would knit with that to get lengths of tube that i would spiral around to make coasters and such. Now Alia has the same thing in plastic that is much fancier and probably makes cord like Linda's machine only Linda's would be far faster.
I don't no how to add a video on here.you would knit it so it would be on top of second needle then slide to the bottom of that second needle and it again you are not going to turn the piece at all does that make sense liz?x
I remember doing with wooden cotton reel and nails knocked in . I made years ago with grandchildren , never done on knitting needles
thank you for Amazon idea linda
These machines come with heavy weights to hang on the end of your knitting tube. It comes out round,

This one is £14.00.
I have a prym knitting mill that does the same job but quicker, just thread it up and turn the handle. You can get them from Amazon .
Will try it and see if I can make sense , thanks Lisa the brain is a bit sluggish 🤣
No idea what you mean Lisa🤔😂
I have made these - there is a special name for them.
Thanks for reminding me Lisa - just what I was needing!! 😀
